Okay, one at home first before some Kiasu peeps call us kaukaypohchics!
That kau is for Male -- thick as in kopi, thick as in cow or lembu.
YOU define Kiasu being of Gen3, as for peeps, methinks it's for "people" in Blogspeak. Kollect me if I am wlong. And awe that gibberish is DDC; if you steal ask what the blardy H*** is DDC, seek oouch Helen sunbathing in Langkawee. Eating benggali roti from Dr M's shoppe.
Okay, after long Intro, which means Desi's still (which is not DDC, as othervice, it would read steal, see?) in knotty mood!
FUME numero uno:
From The NST June 12, 2007 frontpage,
PM FUMES OVER
FLOODS
Abullah raps Drainage and
Irrigation Department
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has expressed dismay at the capital’s inadequate flood control measures.
He turned a few faces red when he rebuked the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) for failing to deal with the rising waters that hit several areas in the heart of the city yesterday, despite costly projects such as the much-hyped RM1.93 billion Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART).
The department’s deputy director-general, Ahmad Fuad Embi, then fumbled as he tried to explain that the construction of the dual-purpose tunnel was on schedule and the rainwater channel was only projected to open by next month.
"Can you speed the work up?" a visibly displeased Abdullah repeatedly asked at the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur briefing on the city’s flood preparedness.
"Mobilise all resources. River widening and building of water retention ponds must be given priority. Floods are no longer seasonal and can strike at any time," he said.
"Yesterday, rainwater rose 720mm, nine times the average rainfall of 80mm while 89 people from Kampung Periuk had to be evacuated. We may not be able to predict the next heavy rainfall but preparations have to be in place to prevent flash floods," he said.
Meanwhile, Federal Territories Deputy Minister Datuk Wira Abu Seman Yusop said the SMART tunnel could only divert excess water from the Klang river.
"We have started flood allevation projects for the Gombak, Batu, Sri Johor and Kerayong rivers," he said.
The Jinjang river retention pond to be completed last month but work has been delayed due to a "design dispute" and the new completion date is sometime next year.
DESI: Maybe we should re-name that DID as the Damage and Irritation Department?
Oh woe be with thee, Hi&Lo
Developed City o' Koala Lumpuh
A few yaers ago Industrial Court was flooded
Now it's again deja vu -- muddied and mudded
But after some lamenting and fuming
A few moons later we'd continue waiting
Desi rests
and waits
I rest my (courtly) case.

THINKING ALLOWED, I wonder how many of Malaysia's charity organisations are not guilty of "hanky-panky"?
I detest that so many YoungOnes are put into the streets to seek donations --
yeah, in the name of charity organisations! They RISK LIFE and LIMB, and all for just a pittance (maybe 10% commissions?) of funds raised for charities PRIVATISED TOI PROFESSIONAL FUND-RAISERS!
I have read that these privateers/pirateers? give only 20-30% to the charity organisations. Their bosses sit tight in AC offices using child-youth labour to raise funds for their HI-living!
Can we have an audit of these Modern Pirates -- or send them ona ship of no return to THE CARRIBEAN To meet the real pirates? Johnny Of The Deep?

OMG! You really nearly got me there with the 9 word. Phew... it's not what I thought. lol
Desi,
Wat's new? The same wet song being sang after every uhappy floods. Title: "We will work hard to prevent floods from happening." Great song! Simple lyrics. Just one sentence throughout the whole song. Keep repeating. It's has been popular since the historical great KL flood in the 70s (??)
But then KL city folks also always wonder too, after repeated flash flooding and forced to ask themselves, "what actually prevented the officialdom from preventing the floods?"
Answers are simple, like plucking rambutans from the tree. Rivers overflowing banks, some reasoned. Another accused: "people throwing rubbish into rivers and God knows where else". Some smartie said: "Smart Storm project not completed yet." The answers are already there, always there....see, city folks, don't get enraged. We have answers for you (well, at least till the next flash flood).
Yes, our vibrant city "water scape" (well, it has to be waterscape and not landscape) is beautiful, reflecting neon lights. Even might not need our tourist minister to visit China to promote KL. Air tanah KL. Sorry, delete the word, "tanah". Under water.
Desi, dedicated to you:
Alas, June 12 2007 two days ahead,
Again, huge black Columbus clouds threatening overhead,
Officialdom cracking their heads,
Of floods and shame head-on,
Headaches and heartaches,
Biting and snapping for head off,
Who's responsible, the floods brought to a head,
Asked the headman,
It's him, it's her, it's them, the chorus blamed the head count,
Where are we heading?
Heady wet days ahead,
Headwinds aplenty,
You need a headhunter,
My friend, to choose a headstrong,
A new head of state,
For a flood free headland.

Great floods in KL good to flush out the incompetent mayors -- but incompetency has become the Norm so nobody gets the sack.
Perhaps we should suggest City Hall conduct an Ark building contest cometh Merdeka Day so that around every street corner the Ark serves as a "evacuation" centre when beaut waterscape takes o'er the dry, polluted KL air and tanah air Koala Lumpuhans.
