My Elusive Dreams

Yesterday being a day of R&R, the .ind wanders to highly spiritual themes.
Or dreams.
Sometimes one wishes to seek the Truth.
Sometimes one feels so lowly, one wants to go CONfess!
24 late, Today I have a CONfession to make.I may not be a 100% patriot.
Ninety-nine percent perhaps.
Da Rationale.
Kyels, see what I mean when I asked of thee: Share thy thoughts after giving the Lad' the Applause?
IF thou art LOST in the Seremban Maze, it's steal okay.
Just don't drift off to the Perthian Haze, rite!

DESIDERATA
grew up on a diet of American cowboy/gal movies and songs.
Yes, the United States of America -- unlike the Brits -- did not need to conquer Malaya then. They jest needed to produce lots of John Waynes, Gary Coopers, Marilyn Monroes and Tammy Wynettes ...
and half the English-speaking world were conquered, lock, stock and gun-barrel.
Maybe even barrels of black coffee.
(Eh, black! No sugar? I prefer Haridas' the way he Does It EveryDay ... kurang manis, tambah manis also-can...
Mau ke, tambah satu pinch Ha-Lai...with a s-mile that could be seen from a mile away:)
Here's to you,
Haridas, Good Health, Good Luck,
and May the weather be kind to thee.

From childhood, Desiderata had always buried himself in the State library -- they called it the Gurney Libray, yes the white man's Colonialist influence still lingered then in Fu Rong, and me and one or two Gf gobbled up cowboy stories like Billy the Kid, and most of all, read, re-raed Jack Schaefer's SHANE.
You have not hurt of Shane? SHAME on you!
You arent no cowboy kiddie-oh unless and until you've memorised some lines from ...like
A gun is like a knife -- onl;y as good as the master handling it, for good or bad,
OR SOMETHIN' TO THAT EFFECT!
I reproduced a few quotes for a group of secondary students once when I had to car-cari makan and played Cowboy and Indian songs with them like:

You're my sunshine;
The River of No Return;
On Top of Olde Smokey

and Skeeter Davies'
The End of the World.

"Hey, desi, that's NOT a cowgal song...
It's jest a love song!" I hurt someone protesteth.

Yalah, I meAnt it was sung country-and-western style, kenORknot, not A&W?
And that is without doubt, a rhetorical question!

Sometimes, Desi likes to speak OPAGUEly.
Besides being OPinionated, and being OPtimistic, too for his own goode.
But that's digression, too much of witch is not gooder.

And that brings me to that story about a former colleague who was asked to arra nge for ARTWORK to depict a WITCH for an HelloWin celebartion.
I gas there was a crackdown on communication, or one was in Greek, the other in Grik.
The Chief Clerk proudly handed over a cardboard on witch was writ: WHICH.

SweAr, TRUE STORY, from my six-storey former office in Jalan Yap Kwan Singe(d)!:(
Even in tongues.

Recently, I opined in a fella blogger's site I was TONGUED.
When I wanted to mean TONGUE-tied or TONGUE-lied...
The subjet came up when one Sundae like YESTERDAY she and significant other were the only ones standing one when their church pastor asked who among the big KONKREKATION did not recieve that gift and were able to "speak in tongue".

Being lazy, minutes ago I re-visited her blog, and reprise here my EsteemedCommento, can? -- This flower was stolen from the ship that almost launched a thousand wars -- allofhelen.blogspot.com, in an entry titled
TO BE HONEST OR NOT TO BE...

Ooops, stammering now! (tongue) lied/tied, As host, your pick!:)
*Do I have to stand in the corner of your church for tie-ing or lie-ing?:(

Helen's (Bless her understanding sopirit!) reply:

desiderata - I know.. talking about religion (whatever faith) is dangerous ground to thread. :-) But, having said that, my blog is mainly used to express my feelings & thoughts, therefore, I have the luxury of being not so objective in dealing with certain sensitive issues. lol
Sigh, you are the first one who actually give face 'stealing' this gem called Paradise by...... ! Nobody else seems to like it.. :-( I love Meatloaf. I guess apart from u, there are not many meat lovers. Teh tarik on me. lol

NOW I hear from sume 'steAmedReaders what has all this rambling, and ranting, and Mondae's digression/aggression, got to do with "Elusive Dreams"?

Clearly this scribe himselff does not know.
It's jest a big decision awaits me.
I am in a sort of bewildered world.
Or isit like Johnin the wilderness.
Or isit wedNURSEday visited two daes early.
Okay, one relevant story before I am ruled out of order.
Someone from nigh Catsville always keeps a HawkEye on Desi's Place so that
I don't go too far off- the-rockers (tangent is the rite word, but
too ordinary and munda'e-lah!
QWe like to sometimes use colourfool language to brighten up the dullness
of Pak Lah's worlde .. your world, my world too,
We are all one hAPpy, or UNhAPpy, famili, yes/no/mayhaps?

One of Desi's elusive dreams has been to buy my own island where me and my friends can escape to, Away from Pak Lah's land of Woes? Not-lah, jest getting a li'l weary,
of all these Politicians and their monkey behaviour. NO EYES SEE.
Also from all these RACE-BAED politics.
EYES SEE< BUTT NO ACTION TO RE-DRESS, OR UN-DRESS, OR EVEN DRESS-UP>
But they attire themselves very well - Armani suits, Mercedes or Rolls Roar, and a Madame Bovary or Princess( Dine-lah in hand ...

My FRIENDS are now numbering 10 to 19? depends on the changing weather, whether some come, stay, or go ...)
If you behave thyself, I may count you in, but can you afford it?
RM1million is the entrance fee, to that new NATION, so near Nyet so far:

ELUSIVE?
Yes, My Dream:)
Your nightmare!:(

So I maketh amend with some entertainment
from David Houston and Tammy Wynette

My Elusive Dreams

I followed you to Texas
I followed you to Utah
We didn't find it there, so we mo-oved on
I followed you to Alabam'
Things looked good in Birmingham
We didn't find it there, so we moved on

I know you're tired of followin'
My elusive dreams and schemes
For they're only fleeting things
My elusive dreams

I had your child in Memphis
You heard of work in Na-ashville
We didn't find it there, so we mo-oved on
To a small farm in Nebraska
To a gold mine in Alaska
We didn't find it there, so we moved on

And now we've left Alaska
Because there was no go-old mine
But this time, only two of us moves on
Now all we have is each other
And a little memory to cling to
And still you won't let me go on alone

I know you're tired of followin'
My elusive dreams and schemes
For they're only fleeting things
My elusive dreams

(Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh)
For they're only fleeting things
My elusive dreams

Like elusive butterflies,
that tempt in the sky,
my elusive dreams:
- fragmented hopes,
assembled
in seamless art;
- emotive desires,
cast
in tangible moulds;
- fantasized visions,
painted
on mental landscape;
all as one,
flows
in a cooling stream,
like
healing water -
sustains my mind,
caresses my thoughts,
turns them to dreams;
stays in my heart,
inflames my love,
for all things nice;
cleanses my eyes,
empowers my view,
beyond cloud nine.

My elusive dreams
await to materialize.
O When ?
I sigh,
for tonight,
my love may die.

Arhhh Desi

Its okz to dream , my daughter spent
xmas with friends on Sovereign Islands

http://www.domain.com.au/real-estate/Sovereign+Islands/16.html

Now all she talks about is living there , yes she needs to win power ball or something hehe .

But it's okz to dream ,for if we have no dream be it fantasy or come reality , life would be boring hehe.

The Impossible Dream

To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go

To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from afat
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star

This is my quest to follow that star
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march
Into hell for a heavenly cause

And I know if I’ll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I’m laid to my rest

And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
The fight the unbeatable foe
To dream the impossible dream

And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
To fight the unbeatable foe
To dream the impossible dream
