'Twist PKR, DAP and PAS

I know many Malaysians -- especially those in the middle-class and above -- are hoping there will be an alternative to the long-running Barisan Nasional government. REading some of the comments at certain more flamboyant -- or like the stock markets, EXUBERTANT? -- blogsites, you would think cometh the next General Elections, the BN government could be kicked out as easily as Beckham scoring a goal betwen two poles or twist some legs. But remember this urnabised subclass with easy acess to the Internet represent a minority of the Electors, and with the BN's famous/infamous/notorious/riotous GERRY-MANDER, unsitting the incumbent Government needs more than just some Blogger's day-dreams. But of course, the Malaysian dreams must precede the arrival of one Visionary Malaysian Leader who can help realise the Malaysian Dream.

You -- Time's Person of the Year 2006 -- need to help push that visionary platform along.

The Opposition parties need to prove themselves capable of forming a viable, alternative government. Many armchair critics don't give the major parties like the DAP, PKR and PAS, plus a few hard-to-remember mosquito parties to be able to offer something better than The-Devil-You-Know that the 14-component-Barisan Nasional offers.

I wonder if ex-DPM Anwar Ibrahim can lend his experience and expertise in having been blood-let in UMNO croc-infested pool, and hardpressed for six years in a cold dark cell, in leading an Opposition front to a credible performance in a General Election which would likely be held before mid-2008, in my humble opinion. For some reeasons I won't care to go public, I believe the Prime Minister Pak Lah would allow fellow Penangite Anwar to contest, which means after the five-year time bar ends in April 2008.

From The Star March 8, 2007 comes this small item, and it's "unusual" for an MSM (Howsy defined as mainstream media) to enable some mileage for a potential PM-in-waiting, which means there's more going on than meets the eye. Knowing the viciousnesa and back-biting that's UMNO, MCA and MIC politics, when a news organ controlled by any BN component party starts to "buddy" -- even a mite byte! -- with the Opposition, you can smell a rat, or is it whisky brewing?

You, my more infomred ESteemedReaders, tell Desi. Don't just listen passively to my PKR propaganda--no wang-anda-ganda for thee!

Anwar expects cooperation from DAP, PAS

KOTA BARU: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) nasional adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expects DAP to work closely with his party and PAS to challenge the might of Barisan Nasional in the next general election despite fundamental differences between the opposition parties.

“There may not be a similar platform or manifesto but the struggle will be the same, which is to fight Barisan,” he said.

Speaking to newsmen after calling on Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat at the latter’s office here, Anwar claimed that there was no major problem between the three opposition parties.

DAP pulled out of the Alternative Front after the last general election, citing PAS’ uncompromising vision of forming an Islamic state in Malaysia as the main reason.

To this, Anwar said DAP was in agreement with PAS on many important issues gripping the country such as the rule of law, freedom, economy, corruption and social interests.

The similarities outweigh the differences, so DAP would more than likely be working in a strategic alliance with PAS and PKR, said Anwar during the visit.

DESI: Many readers also write critical comments at various blogsites I surf to occasional questioning Anwar's credibility as an Opposition leader, recalling his hardliner days as ABIM President, his UMNO days as Education, DPM and Finance Minister. My response has always been: Give the man a second chance to prove he has indeed changed from pro-UMNO days. Any soul imprisoned for six years of the best of his life would be entitled to an Epiphany, yes/no/maybe?

Why don't you attend one of his many public functions (started 2007 as he had promised last year) as PKR adviser, and before the year is out, as PKR President, and ask him yourself any lingering questions. Nothing like hearing from the Horse's mouth. Me, I am just one messenger, don't shoot me. Go try Jeff Ooi or Rocky!:):)

Desi, I don't think the cooperation will work. All three has enough idiots to destroy the long term vision for short term regional supported gains(for example, some bigmouth in PAS). Worst, they don't own the MSM and in dire disadvantages. When same things happen in BN, BN can mute MSM sound.

After watching the Peace Nobel prize hand over to Grameen bank and Muhammad Yunus, I think poor rural economy is something opposition should tackle with.

The reason is simple, BN NEVER depend on urban vote to win. They just need to get EC to mangling around the rural constitution seat to "overwhelm" the middle-class votes.

If opposition can grameen concept on all the poor state (including our resources-rich, poor rural people in Sarawak), they will stand a change to win BIG. Yes, BN still have the say to BAN the gremeen concept locally using BNM power. But I believe all intelligent people inside all 3 parties can work out something to get around the issue.

Long live Anwar. Anwar has what it takes to be the next PM. It's time for Malaysians to cast their racial differences and vote for a man who can shape the destiny of our nation.

I know there are hurdles, but realpolitik requires "accomodation". The three Oppo parties have to adopt a give&take attitude to FACE A COMMON ENEMY -- also the enemy of the people if they know know to conduct a coordinated campaign.

If seklfishness -- a trait deeply planted in the UMNO-MCA cesspool -- is also another trait bgrowing in the Oppo camp, Malaysians can go on living in a NO CHOICE political limbo.

Let's then just Do the Limbo Rock. Forget politics of change!:(
I hope Anwar and matey, DAP Sec-Gen,and new catch TonyPua, and PAS bigwigs read this!and consider the Rakyat's interests above their partisan ones. NegaraKu comes first.
