PECD names non-exec chairman

PECD Bhd has announced the appointment of Datuk Mohammed Azlan Hashim as its independent non-executive chairman effective yesterday.


In a statement, the main board-listed construction, development and energy company also welcomed Datuk Dr Sheikh Awab Sheikh Abod and Shakir Jamil Fisal as non independent and non executive directors.


Mohammed Azlan, also chairman of Proton Holdings Bhd, has extensive experience in the corporate sector including in financial services and investments.


Among others, he has served as chief executive/executive director of Bumiputra Merchant Bank Bhd, group managing director of Amanah Capital Malaysia Bhd and executive chairman of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd).


He is currently a non- executive director of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, Employees Provident Fund and Scomi Group Bhd.


He is also a member of the Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority and chairman of D&O Ventures Bhd.


PECD also announced the resignation of Datuk Dr Mohd Munir Majid and Tan Sri Mohd Razali Abdul Rahman, the group's independent non-executive chairman and non-independent and non-executive director respectively.
