captive within one's own prison of the mind

Poster courtesy of Mob1900
tying a good man down
within the four grey walls
of sungei buloh prison
is easy meat
just use Executive power
give an order to underlings
who dared not refuse
or who obeyed for the almighty dollar
Carrot, carrot on the wall
whose is the juiciest of damned all?

a nation goes down the drain
almost toppling into the Abyss
but the Citizens have eyes which could see
have ears which could hear
have mouths which could still speak

One spoke without fear or favour
They came for him
To hold him prisoner withing four grey walls

But a good man resides within the freedom
Within the warmth and glow of his mind
On principles, freedom and soaring spirits
Grounded

It's that blardy Executive
Who tried to wield absolute power
To tie a good man down
He loses his own mind control

Becoming another cowering
prisoner within his own cowardly mindscape
from where
there is no escape
Fearing even his own shadows
on the borderless walls
mocking him

The real question is whether the EKSEKUTIF is in turmoil? Silencing dissent and opposition is the key to maintain hegemonic powers.

Somehow, I don't feel sorry for the Hindraf leader. If he had a broader agenda that can connect with most people and that specifically target his own, then I would be in the same boat with him.

People have grievances no matter what. If we start asking for compensation on what we and our ancestors went through, the world would be a rowdy place.

A note of thanks to the Hindraf Boyz, they made the GE2008 a good one!

Hi YL:
Another great prose. Remember this?

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out

- Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)

For sure RPK will not be the last man standing. There will be thousands of our Malaysian brothers and sisters behind him. God bless him and his family.

cheers,
