Yesterday

What is the past but a Series of Yesterdays? For Adults, the series is long; a medium series for youths, and an infant series for yes, INFANTS.

Many adults would wish to remain in the memories of Yesterday. Maybe as a child, life was easy and gay. As a child, innocence and indulgence were the twin keys to carefree days. Childhood recall always brought my mind back to Strawberry Fields Forver, where nothing is real. Perhaps a life lived to adulthood had pained us so much we could believe that the childhood days were better indeed, as the Beatles invitingly led some of us to believe (at least they say so in their song).

Youngkyels asked if I listened to Budget 2006 Yesterday. "NO" it was and I answered via a treAser: to read fully, go to Comments yesterday. Yes, this post has lots of yesterday!

But really, how many Malaysian adults today believe the government ever listens properly to the Rakyat's laments?
All we see are just token reactions. No, no, not even actions. TOKEN re-ACTIONS.

So I borrow the thoughts of a modernised Shakespeare (one ancient mind is equivalent to four minds...)as those in the kNOw would undersatnd The Beatles was called the Fabulous Four (not the hongkie F4 man! theye are passe as far as Desi is concerned, my Mophead fRiends from Liverpull are 4-ever-&-ever, Man.:)

Yesterday partially answers that mGf's question:

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly, I'm not half to man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

.
.
.
Many of mGf today believe that the Yesterdays of long ago were better. At least there was some sincerity in leadership starting with our nation's Founding Fathers. As the years went by ...

I don't know about you. You may think life is going through the Golden Age in Malaysia today. To those feeling dadway, Good For You -- maybe you're like that leaders who challenge us to go back to using the bullock cart to travel KL-Penang, 1-1/2 months only, so why do we complain? What right do we have to complain? The majority elected him and his comrades to office, didn't they?

Me, I like to put on record, I didn't. Maybe that Xplains my melancholy.
If that's true, then I asked for it, for not joining the majority.

Yesterday, I also spent RM6 on a monthly magazine because its cover headline MISLED me into parting with my hard-earned 1.6 dollars. I should have bought myself chapfun and two tehtariks instead. You know why?

Quoting the front cover blurb of
OFF THE EDGE,
OCT2005. ISSUE 10.

:

"EAT,
DRINK
AND BE MERRY*

LING HEE LEONG.
THE FORMER MCA
PRESIDENT'S SON,
TRIES HIS HAND AT THE BUSINESS OF
POLITICS. SHOULD
PARTY AND
COUNTRY BE
WORRIED?"

BUT THE BODY OF THE STORY DIDN'T EVEN ADDRESS THE CORE ISSUES -- like "SHOULD PARTY AND COUNTRY BE WORRIED" and OTHER RELATED QUESTIONS even a cadet journalist could have come up with. It was made out to be the core of the story -- but the subject made some UNCHALLENGED comments, ONLY IN PASSING, and got away with it e.g. sum borrowed reported widely by the press in 1997/98 RM1.2BILLION; subject's answer: "...600-something ..."(NOT EVEN MENTIONING 'million'!)...
"...and I paid every cent back ..."

The UNASKED question which any tom, dick and harry young reporter would have asked: HOW? (When the shares were reported to have plummeted in share value by some 70-80 percent?...the Asian financial crisis, remember? The stock market crash, remember?))

Wasted my hardearned RM6. Wonder if I have a case to claim the sum back with the Consumers Claims Tribunal? So after reading such half-baked interview writeups, don't you think it's damned bloody difficult to sit up for the Budget?

As I said in yesterday's post: I'll BUDGET MY CITIZEN'S TRUST.WITH XXX-TRA CARE, today I add. I did NOT budget my trust well Yesterday, did I, parting with RM6 based on a cover!

So it was Budget Day yesterday, was it?
A reader said Desi seemed melancholic. I answered again via another teAser, but that's as nigh the Truth I could get at that point in time i.e 11.15pm Friday September 30.

It does not matter anymore. It only matters if some people cared to take care of our YESTERDAYS, which amounted also to OUR YESTERYEARS.

I haven't up to this point of writing this post at about midnight Friday ...anticipating I'm on the move again tomorrow (Saturday) ...Desi had not heard anything of the Budget yet because none of my dinner mates (3) cared even to refer to it. My GU'SS, I may be wlong again, they are also melancholic about the state. OF AFFAIRS TODAY. IF ONLY THE IDIOTS UP THERE -- or is it WE who are the culprit-idiots? -- for putting damned there? -- HAD CARED YESTERDAY.

Wanna join Desi in Melancholia? No, better adjourn to spiritedestination -- but where's the budget, mGf?

FOR THE RECORD

Samy Vellu harks back to old days

"Two years from now, we cannot use the Sungei Besi
road to get to KL. Residents from Sri Petaling will
take five hours to get to work.
If people are not happy, then we should stop
all road projects. Let's use bullock carts
instead and take one-and-a-half months
to go to Penang (from KL)."

-- Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu
on protests by residents to the KL-Putrajaya
highway

PS: This song's supposedly composed by mGf Nail for celeb Monday Blues;
Although today's not Monday, WTH! it's just another accumulation of five yesterdays!

Song Sung Blue

- written by Neil Diamond

Song sung blue
Everybody knows one
Song sung blue
Every garden grows one

Me and you are subject to the blues now and then
But when you take the blues and make a song
You sing them out again
Sing them out again

Song sung blue
Weeping like a willow
Song sung blue
Sleeping on my pillow

Funny thing, but you can sing it with a cry in your voice
And before you know, start to feeling good
You simply got no choice

Song sung blue
Everybody knows one
Song sung blue
Every garden grows one

NOTE: WTH! is the name of a GOoD magazine with fantastic blurbs coming out soon, edited by ....... who else?
SOON is just THE NEAR FUTURE, which is just another Series of Tomorrows. Patience, my patients be?

Oh desi,

Kecewa sungguh saya apabila mendengar bajet 2006.

Tidakkah mereka takut dipanah petir 1.28billion kilovolt? Kecewanya saya dalam kekecewaan saya ini.

abang imran:

ini adalah kerana pemimpin in semua sangat "selfish"..
mereka hanya mengutamakan mereka sendiri..

*gosh, just realised i can't type more than 2 sentences of BM now..*

saya turut kecewa dengan pemimpin kita, tetapi saya tidak mampu buat apa-apa pun, kerana saya hanya seorang rakyat biasa, lagi-lagi saya tidak berada di Malaysia lagi..
