August 7, 2015. Former Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah has slammed the transfer of two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officials to the Prime Minister's Department as a "blatant show of power".

MACC special operations division chief Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and strategic communications director Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob were transferred with immediate effect for "disciplinary issues" earlier today.

"This is a blatant show of power and shows that there are people who are not happy with MACC's efforts to find the truth," Saifuddin told The Malaysian Insider today in reaction to the transfer.

Their transfer comes shortly after seven MACC officers were interrogated, its offices raided twice, and two of its officers detained overnight by the police within the period of a week.
MACC was investigating SRC International, a company formerly linked to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and currently under the Finance Ministry.
The police alleged leaks in the 1MDB probe and zoomed in on MACC.
"This will strengthen the perception that there is a clear obstruction for MACC to do their duties," said Saifuddin.
In his Twitter account, he also described the transfer as "madness".
Saifuddin is also the CEO of the Global Movement of Moderates.
He is generally known as a moderate in Umno and has often disagreed with his party colleagues on national policy matters. – August 7, 2015.

Return my officers immediately, take me instead, says MACC’s No. 2

BY MUZLIZA MUSTAFA
Published: 7 August 2015 9:20 PM
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull today has asked Putrajaya to reinstate two of his top men who were transferred to the Prime Minister's Department today.
As a trade-off, he has offered himself instead, saying that the duo – MACC director (special operations) Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and MACC director of strategic communications Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob – were only acting on his orders.

"Return my officers immediately. Take me as a replacement. They did and acted based on my instructions," said Shukri in a text message to The Malaysian Insider.
Shukri was reportedly abroad on official duty.
He was responding to reports on the immediate transfer of both Bahri and Rohaizad.
Both are expected to report to the department on Monday.
Bahri has been very vocal in his comments against the police over their actions in their investigation against MACC on the alleged leakage of classified government documents in the agency's 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) probe.
It is understood that both were transferred for their “hard hitting” statements following the police raids and arrests of MACC officers.
MACC's response to the “continuous attack” against them and the soft approach toward opposition leaders during their visit at the agency’s headquarters yesterday was believed to be among the contributing factors leading to their transfer.
Sources said that both were transferred due to "disciplinary problems".
It was also understood that special branch officers were also present yesterday to conduct 'profiling' of the key MACC officers including Rohaizad, who were present during the meeting with opposition leaders.
It is not known what roles the two will be taking at the Prime Minister's Department as everyone seemed shocked and clueless over the transfer order.
Bahri was last seen leaving the MACC headquarters at 6.30pm waving to his subordinates before being driven away in a maroon Proton Inspira.
Meanwhile, Rohaizad left the building at 7pm, and was escorted to his Proton Waja by his men.
He declined to comment on the matter. – August 7, 2015.

NOW IS the time for all GOoD MALaysians to STand UP

AND BE COUNTED! SHOUT WITH DESI: "WE KNOW WHO YOU THE DEVILS ARE -- THE TRUTH WILL PREVAIL EVENTUALLY!"

AS we the RAKYAT HAVE been urged to tone down a few bytes on POLITICS,  Let DeSi be SHORT AND SWEET, OK! YES, even less sugar in my teh-see if you don't mind, and reduce the price by 10percent, yeah?!

TOO often the Malaysian leaders and their cronies, mostly from the ruling BArisan NASional BUT A FEW TOO FROM THE OPPOSITION PARTIES< ARE GEtting away with corruption, abuse of power and even MURDER! I Did say MURDER BECause in this holy month of RAmadan, many MALaysians are defaming the RAKYAT AND SEVERAL LEADERS FROm the OPPOsistion PARty -- WHO ARE A THREAT TO UMNO-Oh-NO! --with unfounded ALLEGATIONS OF HOMOSEXUALITY (MEMBUAT FITNAH!) which to my understanading is akin or worse to taking a human life. AND THE SINNERS/CULPRITS ARE ALLOWED TO GET AWAT SCOT-FREE!

TWO LEADING EXAMPLES STILL VERY MUCH IN THE GENERAL PUBLIC MIND involved "Innocents" who were put behind bars after some kangaroo court trials, where important RELEVANT WITNESSES WERE NOT CALLED  TO TESTIFY, and the sitting judges were more than seen to be BAISED TO THE PROSECUTION

ONE case was even described by the ESTEEMED BAR COUNCIL PRESIDENT AS "POLITICAL PERSECUTION" And NOT CRIMINAL PROSECTION.

THE OTHer involved one inconspicuous player sentenced to death BUT CONVENIENTLY ALLOWED TO GO DOWN UNDER. A SECOND CONVICT WAS NOT SO lucky, he's awaiting the hangman, but my instincts tell DESi this is NOT GOIng to happen anytime soon BECAUSE THE POLITICS INVOLVED IS TOO MESSY, AS THE GHOST OF THE MURDER VICTIM, a foreigner also an international beauty, IS STILL LURKING IN THE MALAYSIAN AIRSPACE. SHe told DESi in a dream her spirits won't rest appeased UNTIL THE REAL CULPRIT?S ARE FOUND AND BROUGHT TO JUSTICE> IN THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION.  MANY MALAYSIANS HAVE a gOOD idea who he/she/it/they are/were, but we must not speculate OK!  MEMbuat fitnah adalah lebih dosa dari membunuh, my limoted understanding of some religious teachings. you better educated, please elucidare!

IF YOU my ESTeemedREader need to be educated WHO THE REAL PROTAGONISTS IN THESE TWO EXAMPLES ARE,  I am inclined to label thee as "living in the dark ages", but never mind, DESI WILL ENLIGHTEN YE, PROVIDED: HEY! BUY ME endless rounds of tehtarik at DE MIANG COrnner in FURong at 8.00PM and I"LL BE DARE!

Negri Sembilan prince Tunku Zain Al-Abidin speaks at the Malaysian Student Leaders Summit at the Renaissance Hotel in Kuala Lumpur today. – The Malaysian Insider pic by Kamal Ariffin, August 8, 2015. Negri Sembilan prince Tunku Zain Al-Abidin today donned black and blue in solidarity with The Edge Weekly and The Edge Financial Daily following the suspensions of both publications for their critical reporting of debt-ridden state investor 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
He also made a plea for press freedom, saying a progressive country needed media that could report freely.
"In recent days we have seen some attacks on media freedom. Today I am wearing black and blue in solidarity with The Edge," he told student leaders at the Malaysian Student Leaders Summit in Kuala Lumpur today.
Earlier today, journalists and activists gathered for a rally in solidarity with The Edge's publications, which were suspended by the Home Ministry due to their reportage on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), drawing a crowd of about 400 donning black and blue
The colours were chosen to represent the "bruising" of the media through suppression of its reporting and pressure to ensure that reports did not fall foul of the authorities.
Tunku Zain said a thriving civil society and a free press were needed to gauge the ground sentiments in the country, citing attempts to interpret the Federal Constitution differently in recent times.
"The country itself is not static. Of course, some might argue that past intentions (on the constitution) don't carry special legitimacy in today's situation," he said.
"But for that we need a thriving civil society and a free press to gauge what the people are talking about in the mamak shops, and the golf courses," he added.
He said that more groundwork needs to be done before the country can "rehabilitate", saying that the nation needs to decide the real meaning of the constitution and the purpose of the institutions that were put in place during its independence.
"What our nation is about? Who are the institutions created for?" he said.
Tunku Zain repeatedly stressed the need to make appropriate interpretations of the original intentions of the constitution, instead of individuals claiming to know of the original intentions to suit their own purposes. – August 8, 2015.
