Malaysians Arise, Seize The Moment!

YES, the moment is the 13th General Elections -- it's the best time in Malaysian political passage when a new coalition called the Pakatan Rakyat -- comprising DAP, PKR and PAS -- forms  the most formidable coalition for the first having a 50-50 chance of removing the Barisan Nasional from the federal seat of government at Putrajaya, which comprises 13 minor components after BIG BROTHER UMNO who makes all the key decisions.

So the moment has come when polling for GE13  takes place on May 5 for all sensible Malaysians to make an informed decision WHETHER YOU WANT TO STAY WITH THE DEVIL-YOU-KNOW that is UMNO (its 56-year-record of entrenched CORRUPTION is well recorded), and try the ONLY VIABLE ALTERNATIVE COALITION for just ONE TERM OF FIVE YEARS. The past five-year records of PR-led state governments in Penang, Selangor, Kedah and Kelantan are also under your public scrutiny. I stay in close touch with the Penang and Selangor scenes, and I can safely say Lim Guan Eng's and Khalid Ibrahim,s leadership as state CEO have had a better performance by all counts compared with their predeccessor-MB or Chief Minister from UMNO. Hopefully Peraka helmed for a short while by PAS Nizar whose term was illegally cut short with UMNO buying out THREE TURNCOATS FROM DAP and PK ended PR's control prematurely for a "reliable" assessment to be made; so I urge the Perak electorate to return the Pakatan Rakyat for a FULL TERM OF FIVE YEARS by taking back the "stolen" state to return to its rightful owner under PR.

May I now quote from Julius Caesar, a play by Shakespeare that we at 5th form had to study to sit Literature as one optional subjects in 1965 (YES, Desi is that olde/young depending on THY ***perspective!):~~~

There is a tide in the affairs of men

Email
Brutus:
There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.
Julius Caesar Act 4, scene 3, 218–224
Brutus and Cassius are discussing the final phase of their civil war with the forces of Octavian and Marcus Antonius. Cassius has been urging that they group their forces at Sardis and take advantage of the secure location to catch their breath. Brutus, however, advocates heading off the enemy at Philippi before Octavian can recruit more men. Brutus's main point is that, since "the enemy increaseth every day" and "We, at the height, are ready to decline" (lines 216–217), he and Cassius must act now while the ratio of forces is most advantageous. "There's a tide in the affairs of men," he insists; that is, power is a force that ebbs and flows in time, and one must "go with the flow." Waiting around only allows your power to pass its crest and begin to ebb; if the opportunity is "omitted" (missed), you'll find yourself stranded in miserable shallows.

DESIDERATA: I feel Malaysians are indeed poised at the CUSP OF A CHANGE OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT if they make informed decisions cometh May 5 to cast your VOTE/thy family members' too. You must seize the moment that has come after some FIVE DECADES OF JUST ONE GOVERNMENT YOU KNOW -- that was first the Alliance, then evolved to the present Barisan Nasional but more notoriously equated to the "to the big, bad wolf " named UMNO whose Prez's word is the BN's command, right or wrong!

Fellow Malaysians, digest the advice the Bard has wisely shared with us in the first lines from the QUOTE ABOVE: "...Brutus:
There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;

Desi's translation into the current Malaysian landscape,
WE ARE AT THE CUSP OF "V"ICTORY
"V"OTE FOR CHANGE/UBAH-LAH OF GOVERNMENT AT PUTRAJAYA...

For that decision to "change" will lead our country to a fortune
OF A BETTER MALAYSIA.

If you miss this golden opportunity, I am afraid a similar knock on thy door won't come in another 50 years. I won't be around to urge you on, my EsteemedReaders, then. Neither do I have the patience, though I have been promoting the CONcept that Ms Patience is also Ms, Mr Virtuous! Digress back to the ***perspective about age: PKR de facto chief DS ANWAR IBRAHIM last year addressing a ceramah in front of NS party HQ said: "This year I am 64, BUT I FEEL 46!" Ditto, said I, to myself. But still I am knot Ms Patience todie!

Frankly, you have nothing to lose, EV'RYTHING TO GAIN. We have had a peep of the progress made In Selangor and Penang for the past five years. EXPAND THE PR's SERVICE TO THE REST OF MALAYSIA  which its citizens richly deserve. The jaded BN known for its corruption and daylight robbery must be removed in a democratic manner through the ballot box on May 5. Should PK form the next federal government, if is expected to deliver on its promises outlined
in its GE13 Manifesto. Five years from now, should it fail to live up to its word, then you can throw PR from Putrajaya. Desi is confident oit won't come to that eventuality.

Some of my Pasar Furong politikuses even say wit' gusto: EVEN A DOG OR MONKEY WILL BE A BETTER CANDIDATE THAN ANYONE FROM UMNO, MCA and MIC (yes, they know the peninsula scene pretty well!); Desi can only smile with a slight nod of the head, and if I'm in a mood that my ER would just give me a LISTEN, I will buy endless rounds of tehtarik! ~~ YL, Desi, knottyaSsusual
