JUST a month earlier, I wrote on the topic for the first time reporting on the MALaysian GOvernment's "Smart" move to begin a mechanism to mark up the pump prices for petrol when the world prices had dropped to almost the lowest levels in the past seven or eight years, and on JUne 3, 2015 we saw the FIRST price rise of 10sen per litre. SO JULY 1's increase of another 10sen rise for RON95 and 20sen for RON97.
AND as I said in my TOPIC TITLE: "...THOU art suckered agin!"
SO let's visit the BLOOMBERG NEWS; I Normally skip the local news reporting because they "bodek" the GOvernment of the day lah! FOr economics and business news, Bloomberg is the more reliable " Specialist", so here goes:
RON95 Price Rises 10 Sen For The Month Of July; RON97 Up 20 Sen

Hopes that the existing petrol prices
would either be reduced slightly or be retained for the month of July in
view of the softer Brent crude price throughout June 2015, were dashed
when motorists were informed that they have to fork out an additional 10
sen for RON95 and 20 sen for RON97 effective today.
“However, the price of diesel will remain unchanged at RM2.05 a liter,” the Petrol Dealers Association of Malaysia deputy president Datuk Zulkifli Mokti told Bernama. “The prices will be effective from 12.01am, July 1.”
This means that the new retail price for RON95 is RM2.15/liter while that of RON97 is RM2.55 (inclusive of the 6% Goods and Services Tax).
Unlike previously, the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry has decided to no longer make a formal announcement on the fuel prices revision at the end of every month. Last month, an announcement on fuel prices was made available through the ministry’s Facebook page.
“Motorists will only know if the prices are going up or down or maintained at midnight,” Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek told reporters after attending an UMNO Youth GST Open Day briefing. Likewise petrol station operators would also be informed of the changes at midnight.
For the months of March, April and May, the prices of RON95, RON97 and diesel had remained unchanged at RM1.95/liter, RM2.25/liter (subject to GST) and RM1.95/liter, respectively. However, a 10 sen across the board hike was imposed on the three fuels in June in tandem with a steady rise in the global benchmark Brent crude price to the US$66 a barrel range throughout the month of May.
However, the price of Brent crude had since retreated to mostly the US$63-US$64 a barrel region throughout the month of June.
The current monthly fuel price adjustment system follows the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs’ decision to set the market prices of petrol and diesel on a managed float beginning December 1 last year.
The month of February marked the lowest fuel prices thus far for Malaysian motorists with the RON95, RON97 and diesel priced at RM1.70, RM2.00 ad RM1.70, respectively.

THey just did raise the price the preceding month!
