Sex video: Shazryl denies accusing Anwar, claims it was "people" and "reporters"
Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, one of the notorious Datuk T trio, is now trying to U-turn on his accusations that it was Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim who was captured on film having sex with a female sex worker.
"I am not accusing Anwar, but people and you reporters who have viewed it (were the ones who) judged (Anwar)," Malaysiakini reported Shazryl as saying.
But his apparent turnaround failed to soothe Anwar's supporters, who derided the reliability of his words.
"He has proven himself such a dishonest character, we are just wondering what is his next step. In fact, we would call on all Malaysians to wake up and watch the latest Umno drama unfolding. It looks like the final chapter is about to be played out, so let's watch closely what new and disgusting shenanigans they will get up to," PKR vice president Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.
In late March, Shazryl and his Umno colleagues - former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik and Perkasa treasurer Shuaib Lazim - booked a conference suit at a posh hotel in downtown Kuala Lumpur to screen the video, which they claim they had 'discovered'.
They demanded that Anwar and his wife, PKR president Wan Azizah, resign from politics within a week of face the tape being made public.
Not me, I didn't hire the sex worker
Initially, the trio tried to hide their identities but PKR investigators revealed that Rahim, the head of government agency RISDA, had made the booking through his aides while Shuaib, the father-in-law of Rural Development minister Shafie Apdal, had paid the bill.
Forced to confess, they brazened it out - claimining full responsibility when speculation rose that they were just the front-men for Prime Minister Najib Razak and other members of the Umno elite including former premier Mahathir Mohamad, who want Anwar 'destroyed' before the next general election.
But the plot went awry, especialy when close-up leaked onto YouTube showed the facial features and physique of the man were different from Anwar's.
Public suspicion of a massive conspiracy also grew when the Inspector General of Police Ismail Omar refused to arrest or charge the trio despite their having admitted to possessing and screening the pornographic material. In Malaysia, this is an offense punishable by up to 5 years in jail.
Meanwhile, Shazryl denied he had hired the sex worker in the video. Initially, he had said he 'discovered' the tape. He has also admitted to being the second man in the tape, who had taken the Anwar-lookalike to the hotel room where four cameras were used to shoot the sex scenes.
He has previously denied having a hand in the making of the video. Yet he insists the video was made in Malaysia and not Thailand.
"A lot of this, I cannot reveal much as this is still under investigation," he said.(as reported by Malaysian Chronicle)
DESIDERATA: Some of these newsmakers -- or liars may be a badder word?! -- take us Malaysian public as kindergarten. My short comment is: Go tell it to the marines! These two are excellent in engaging in "polemics", and they expect the readers to raed their writings like literature texts for an examination! So they create diversion through a whole jungle of words thrown like darts in the wind, and they blamed the MSM for spinning, they blame the Rakyat for lacking discernment. Why don't their ilk just go to the Zoo and swing from tree to te=ree and entertain us like their orginal forefathers -- the baboons and apes!? And that "question" mark is rhetorical -- hey, not only RPK can pray around wit' words.
