Emergency meeting might be called, says Umno supreme council member

PETALING JAYA: Umno might call for an emergency meeting to discuss the fate of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, said Datuk Seri Hasan Malek. 
The Umno supreme council member told The Star Online that the party won’t tolerate enemies within the party. 
"We can't tolerate all this nonsense and we certainly do not want to have an enemy within the party," he said. 
He added that party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak might call for an emergency meeting soon to discuss the matter. 
"We usually have a meeting once every month, but I believe this calls for an emergency meeting. 
"We need to do something about this, because if you want to be with us, you work with us and support us. It's very bad otherwise," he added. 
He said the actions of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal in signing the declaration to 'Save Malaysia' was an embarrassment to the party. 
"We were humiliated by the actions of the suspended party deputy president and vice president. 
"They forgot that these were the main enemies and now they are sitting together with them to sign this declaration," said Hasan. 
On Friday, Muhyiddin, Shafie and 50 others including Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Lim Kit Siang signed a declaration to forcefully remove Datuk Seri Najib Tub Razak as Prime Minister. 
Last week, Muhyiddin was suspended as the party's deputy president for allegedly not assisting his president while Shafie was let off with a warning.
